Restricted Phrases
Keep a list of words and phrases notes may not use, for some disciplines or author levels, with what to write instead.
Some words do not belong in a clinical note, such as labels in place of what the patient actually did. Open Setup
Restricted Phrases to keep your clinic's list. A note that uses one cannot be signed until the phrase is removed; the check before signing names it and shows what to write instead.
Click New Phrase and fill in:
- Word or phrase: matched as whole words, ignoring case. "hit" does not match "white".
- Disciplines: the disciplines whose notes are checked. Leave empty for all.
- Authors: the credential levels whose notes are checked, such as behavior technicians. Leave empty for everyone.
- What to write instead: shown to the author with the phrase.
- Active: inactive phrases are not checked.
Deleting a phrase stops the check; signed notes are not affected. Managing the list needs the Setup: Clinical Manage permission.
