Provider matching
Find the providers who suit a patient by distance, language, age focus, payer enrollment and free hours, and see which patients live near a provider.
Provider matching helps you staff a new patient or fill a provider's open hours. It works for every discipline and uses what is saved on each provider: languages, specialties, age focus and home address. Distances use map coordinates: the provider's home when it has them, else their default location, and the patient's home service address. Both pages need permission to read patient charts.
Find a provider#
Open Schedule > Find a provider.
- Choose the Patient. When you picked one patient in the patient panel, it starts with that patient.
- Narrow the list if you need to:
- Within (miles): only providers within this distance of the patient's home. Providers whose distance is unknown (no coordinates) are left out once you set it.
- Speaks and Specialty: only providers who list that language or specialty.
- Speaks the patient's language, Patient fits the age focus and Enrolled with the patient's payer: only providers who meet each one you turn on. Enrollment applies when the patient's primary payer requires enrolled providers.
- Click Find Providers.
NeatPractice ranks the providers of the patient's first open episode, best first. The Score (0 to 100) weighs how much of the patient's availability the provider's free hours cover, whether they work at the patient's locations and hold a current credential of the discipline, how close they are and whether they treated the patient before. Speaking the patient's language raises the score; being outside the age focus or not enrolled with the payer lowers it. Why lists the reasons, and badges mark providers on the care team, who speak the patient's language, who are not enrolled with the payer or whose age focus the patient is outside of. Providers who are not accepting new patients are left out unless they treated the patient before.
Patients nearby#
Open Schedule > Patients nearby to work the other way round: choose a Provider and a distance in miles, then click Find Patients. NeatPractice lists the active patients you can see whose home lies within that distance, nearest first, with their open episodes in the provider's disciplines. Badges mark patients already on the provider's care team, those who speak a language the provider lists and those outside the provider's age focus. The badge above the list says whether distances start at the provider's home or default location.
