Verify an address

Check a patient, contact, service address, location or provider address, get the standardized address with its ZIP+4 and map coordinates, and keep or replace what you typed.

Verify Address checks an address against postal records before you save it. It suggests the standardized form with the full nine-digit ZIP+4 that claims need and, where the record keeps them, the map coordinates that drive time, provider matching and EVV distances use.

Where you find it#

  • A patient's chart, Demographics, in the Address and location panel.
  • The Add Contact and Edit Contact dialogs, for parents, guardians and other contacts.
  • The Add Address and edit dialogs on the chart's Service addresses tab.
  • Setup, Locations: under the service facility, billing and pay-to addresses.
  • Setup, Providers: under the Home address.

Check an address#

  1. Type the street address, city, two-letter state and ZIP code.
  2. Click Verify Address.
  3. Compare You entered with Suggested:
    • Click Use Suggested to replace the fields with the standardized address. Service addresses, locations and provider home addresses also get their latitude and longitude.
    • Click Keep Original to leave what you typed.
  4. Save the form as usual. Nothing changes until you save.

If the address cannot be found, a message says so. Check the street and ZIP code, or keep the address as typed.

Permissions#

Anyone who can add or edit patients, set up locations or manage providers can verify an address.
