QA Rules
Choose which signed notes go to the QA queue, by payer, provider and discipline, as a share of notes or every note with audit findings.
QA rules decide which signed notes a quality reviewer looks at. Open Setup > QA Rules to keep your clinic's rules. Each note a rule selects waits in QA reviews until a reviewer approves or returns it.
Click New Rule and fill in:
- Name: shown on each review the rule picks, such as
Medicaid sample. - Picks: A share of signed notes picks notes at random as they are signed; Notes with audit findings picks every note an audit finds issues in.
- Share of notes (%): for a share, the percent of covered notes to pick.
100sends every note. - Disciplines, Providers and Payers: the notes the rule covers. The payer is the visit's payer. Leave a list empty to cover everyone.
- Active: inactive rules pick no new notes.
A note goes to the QA queue once, even when several rules cover it. Patient forms and incident reports are never picked. Changing or deleting a rule affects only notes signed afterward; reviews it already opened stay in the queue.
To keep a payer's charges from billing until QA approves the note, turn on QA approval required to bill in the payer's rules.
Managing QA rules needs the Setup: Clinical Manage permission.
