Labels
Create colored labels, grouped in folders, for patients, staff, appointments, procedure codes and charges, and filter lists by them.
Labels mark records so you can find them later: a family that needs an interpreter, a charge to follow up with the payer, a bilingual therapist. Open Setup > Labels to manage your clinic's labels.
Creating labels#
Click New Label and fill in:
- Name and Color.
- Goes on: the kinds of records the label can be put on: patients, staff, appointments, procedure codes or charges.
- Folder: groups the label with others. Turn on Folder to make a folder instead; folders hold labels and are not put on records themselves.
- Private: only you see and use a private label. Clinic labels need the Setup: Practice Manage permission; anyone can keep private labels.
Deleting a label takes it off every record. A folder must be empty before it can be deleted.
Putting labels on records#
- Patients: click Add label in the chart's header, or select patients on the patient list and click Change Labels. You need permission to update the chart.
- Charges: select charges on the charge review queue and click Change Labels.
- Staff: open a provider and use the Clinic fields tab, or pick Labels in the provider list's row menu.
- Procedure codes: pick Labels in the row menu of Setup > Procedure Codes.
- Appointments: open the appointment; its labels show above its history.
Filtering by labels#
Lists with labels have two filters on their toolbar: Labels finds records carrying any of the labels you pick, and Without labels leaves out records carrying any of them. Picking a folder means any label in it.
