ABA
Interventions
Keep your clinic's list of ABA interventions, copy them to a learner, link them to the behaviors they address and apply later clinic edits to a learner's copy.
An intervention is a strategy the team uses around a behavior, such as offering choices before a transition or blocking and redirecting. Your clinic keeps one list of interventions; each learner gets their own copies, linked to the behaviors they address.
The clinic list#
Each intervention has:
- A name, up to 200 characters.
- Whether it is an Antecedent strategy (before the behavior), a Consequence strategy (after it) or both (Antecedent and consequence).
- The behavior functions it suits: attention, escape, tangible or automatic.
- A description of how to carry it out.
Add, edit and remove interventions on the clinic list. Removing one leaves every learner's copy as it is. Managing the list needs permission to manage the ABA library; see Roles and permissions.
A learner's interventions#
On the learner's treatment plan tab, add interventions to the learner:
- Pick one or more from the clinic list. Each becomes a copy for this learner.
- Or write one for this learner only, with the same fields.
- Link the behavior programs each intervention addresses.
Edit a learner's copy, or change the behaviors it is linked to, without touching the clinic list or other learners. Give it a Started date when the learner began receiving it and an Ended date when they stopped; the list shows the dates, and the audit history keeps earlier ones. Assessment and progress reports list each behavior's interventions in use during the report period.
When the clinic list changes#
Each edit to a clinic intervention makes a new version of it. A learner whose copy came from an older version sees that an update is available. Apply it to bring the copy up to the clinic's current name, kind, functions and description; the copy's behavior links stay as they are. Until you apply it, the learner keeps their own wording.
Archive#
Archive an intervention the learner no longer uses. The confirmation names the intervention, its kind and the behaviors it addresses. It leaves the learner's list and stays on record. Show archived interventions to see it again.
Adding, editing, updating and archiving a learner's interventions need permission to author ABA plans for that learner.
