Documents with several signers
Templates that ask for a supervisor's, an administrator's or a caregiver's signature after the author's, and the Pending my signature list.
A template can ask for more signatures than the author's. In the template editor, add a Signature field and choose who signs it: Supervisor, Administrator or Patient or caregiver. Mark it required when the document is not complete without it. Discharge summaries, incident reports and reports often need several signers.
When the author signs, the document lists the other signers under Other signers, each Pending until they sign:
- Supervisor: the visit's supervising provider, else the author's supervisor, else the patient's care team lead signs it. Someone who co-signs for the whole clinic can sign in their place.
- Administrator: anyone with the Clinical: Document Approve permission signs it.
- Patient or caregiver: click Sign in Clinic and hand over the device; they type their name, say who they are and sign, as for patient signatures.
Supervisors and administrators find documents waiting for them on the Todos page under Pending my signature. Open one, click Sign, check the attestation and enter your verification code when asked. Each signature is added to the signed copy; the document's content never changes.
